Budapest, the city of history, culture, business, and vibrant nightlife

In 2019 Budapest won the European Best Destination award, as more than 62,000 travellers gave a thumbs up to Budapest in the European Best Destinations contest, an online initiative to find the most popular city to visit around the Old Continent.

It was not a surprise, since in the last decade Budapest offers more and more to tourists, no matter what they are looking for.

Budapest has been inhabited since the Roman ages, when the city of Aquincum was raised by the Danube providing headquarters and thermal water springs for soldiers. Since then, the city survived the Turkish occupation, the Habsburg area, the World Wars and the Revolution of 56’, and became a living museum of historical sites, breath-taking buildings and even Roman ruins. Just by walking around in the city, travellers can face history by every corner.

The capital’s cultural life is as colourful as it can be, from theatre to concerts, from contemporary exhibitions to dance performances, hundreds of programs are waiting for the guests day by day. And by night, the city becomes a lively scene of clubs and the famous ruin pubs, where the youth of Budapest and the adventurous visitors can meet and party.

This excellent mix of entertainment attracts millions of tourists year by year, who want to feel the unique atmosphere of this fascinating city.
